MGTOW Betting

Back in my high school days, other guys would try to get me to bet on a game. I never liked this. It causes friction with my friends. It is an avenue for my unfriends to skin me.

What I did was:

• Memorize the point spread in advance. The sports media published these things.
  
• Change the spread by one point in my favor.
  
• Agree to the bet with my spread.
  

For example:

"I'll betcha big bucks my team beats yours this week," said the unfriend.

"Okay. I'll take that bet if you give me ten (or whatever) points," replied I.

This will have two outcomes, both in my favor (keeping in mind I don't like betting in the first place).

1. "I ain't doin' that. That ain't fair. Fergit it."

- My preference.

2. "Duh, okay."

- Acceptable, if not optimal.

If you watched the first season of the TV series Boardwalk Empire, you will remember Arnold Rothstein going on about never taking bets unless he is sure he will win. That's the way to do it in this cruel world.

Rothstein also cheated; he put in the fix, but that's another story.  It's the story of pro sports since before the age of TV.

Of course he's doing a great job! He's making the owners buckets of money, and that is the only metric that matters. 
 
They might get rid of him because he's become a lightning rod for controversy: His failure to meddle in a police investigation has the feminists and their male BFFs in a hissy fit. If that happens, it'll only be because the kerfuffle is costing them money. 
 
On a personal note, I haven't bought any pink NFL gear, and I ain't gonna!

The National Guard personnel should be encouraged to be armed, lawfully, at all times. They should not be made into targets. That's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it under the Constitution! 

Self-defense, target shooting, hunting - all these are sports men can enjoy here in the good ol' USA. Well, that's the theory anyway.

What's this got to do with MGTOW? 
 
The feminists don't approve. That's enough for me.  On a postitive note, shooting is a fun thing to do.

Shooting is an excellent form of recreation for those so inclined. It can be therapy too. For example, Adm. Chester A. Nimitz shot his .45 every morning during WWII. His doctor prescribed it to cure a case of "nerves," and it worked. (He had a lot on his mind and a heavy workload, and going Galt wasn't an option.)

Fun fact: Two million felonies are stopped - with no shots fired - every year by armed citizens in the USA. Would you rather stop it before it starts, or be a helpless victim?

Life is not a TV show: The brilliant (and improbably good looking) TV detective is not going to kick your door open and apprehend the bad guy before he has his way with you. You need to fend for yourself. The cops will show up later and write a report. Good luck if all you have is your bare hands in the meantime.
