Labor Day

American Minute ran an interesting article on the origins of Labor Day.  It will be in the archives: http://www.americanminute.com/
The short version is Pres. Cleveland wanted to make the voters happy in the aftermath of nationwide railroad strikes.  He lost the election anyhow, but we got a holiday.

Learn a trade.  High demand trades pay better than most white collar jobs, and they do not force you into crippling student loan debt!  As an added benefit, they can't be outsourced to foreign lands.

Here is one of millions of hits (no kidding) that a search on learning a trade turned up: http://www.uncollege.org/skilled-trade-get-paid-to-learn/
